Harm Less Event - March 9th at 4:30pm

On March 9, the UVSS Harm Less Club, in cooperation with local anti-poverty and social justice organizations, invites you to participate in a discussion centered on participatory action and harm reduction.

The event will be held from 4:30-6:30pm in the Michele Pujol room in the Student Union Building at the University of Victoria.

This event will create space for students to gain insight and use our skills to promote solidarity in our community! Our overall goal is to generate networking opportunities among students and community members, to engage students with what is happening in our larger community and to provide a space for students to connect with local anti-poverty and social justice organizations.

Harm Less will feature guest speakers including:
Jill, representing S.O.L.I.D. (Society of Living Intravenous Drug Users): A personal account of harm reduction
Connie Carter: Harm reduction policies and the local context
Gordon O'Connor (Facilitator): Environmentalism and harm reduction

There will be a diversity of organizations presenting their specific projects followed by dialogue and discussion including Harm Reduction Victoria (HRV), Victoria Coalition Against Poverty (VCAP), Society of Living Intravenous Drug Users (SOLID), Vancouver Island Public Interest Research Group (VIPIRG), The Beddow Center, The Dogwood Initative, and many more.

Refreshments and snacks provided!
